The Joys & Horrors of Winter

I live is a small mountain town in north eastern Arizona. We don’t usually get a lot of snow, I love at approx 6500 ft. Just a few inches here and there. About once a year we get one really good storm that dumps a foot or more of snow all at once. HORROR!

The joy of winter…The snow is beautiful if you don’t have to go anywhere.  This morning I woke up to about an inch of the pretty fluffy stuff. Unfortunately it had rained most of the day yesterday so under all of that pretty fluff was a nice layer of ice, HORROR!  My car door was frozen shut. So without breaking the door handle I had to yank the door open. After I carefully drive myself to work I get out of my car, lock the door (BIG mistake) and go clock in. I come back out to my car and I cannot get back in to my car and no I didn’t lock my keys in it. My door lock was frozen…on the inside.  At first the key would only go in a little. So, I tried some more. Got the key all the way in and the lock would not turn. Nice!

So I sat at work all morning thinking of ways to avoid the locksmith. Both of my remotes are broken so I’ve now decided at least one of them needs to be replaced. Finally at around 10:30 am I was able to get the lock to turn and open my door.

Gotta love winter
