The Looting of Foreign Shops in Soweto, South Africa - My View

Posted on the 29 January 2015 by Thandi @sassymissy
Feeling really down about what's happening in #Soweto 😞 massive looting and burning of foreign shops by South Africannnationals and yet the Police claim it's not #Xenophobia. Blue is blue, Xenophobia is Xenophobia. Calling it something else does not change what it is!
The Looting of foreign shops in Soweto, South Africa - My view
These people work hard to survive in SA and its really not fair. It's shameful that these looters can't work hard to build their own success! Being lazy and Stealing from honest people is a recipe for disaster. There is a God out there watching out for his own. In Exodus 22:21 you read "Do not mistreat or oppress a foreigner, for you were foreigners in Egypt"- A message to the Israelites. In the same way South Africans were oppressed in their own country for many years. Especially the Black South Africans. And in their struggles, they found refuge in other African countries that welcomed them. Now 20years on, they've forgotten where they came from. And i'm not talking about all South Africans! I've actually been blessed to meet the most Amazing ones! I'm talking about the ones who have a hate for foreigners, especially the ones that succeed. That jealousy...That Envy. Why? Be happy for your fellow African brother or sister! And work hard for yours! Why hate? Why kill? Why steal?. Most of these internationals come into the country with nothing and work harder to obtain everything they own. If you're an international living in #SouthAfrica, you have to develop a thick skin! Talking from experience. It's though :(
I hope the violence doesn't spread further to cause a repeat of the Xenophobic attacks in 2008 when many foreigners where killed. I'll keep praying for this nation!
