There's always one isn't there? In every single photo, somebody is doing something - sticking their tongue out, pulling their grumpiest face, looking away or closing their eyes. In our family, it's usually our boys, specifically Ethan, but this time? This time it was Daddy! But then, I suppose his eyes are partially open, so I guess I'll have to give him that. ;)
So this month has been rather crazy in terms of being busy and this photo below was taken just yesterday afternoon. Adam went to pick up Ethan from school with Logan and I ran around the house collecting my camera, my remote and my tripod up. I threw some jeans on (as sadly I wouldn't really have gotten away with my pyjama bottoms), a hat and some gloves and as soon as I saw the boys coming home I flew out of the house and we walked up the road towards the park. It wasn't the ideal background, but we knew that it would be quiet and being that we were on the very last afternoon before the Me and Mine post was going to go live and being that we were losing light very, very quickly, it was totally our only option.
We got a few funny looks walking by some workmen chopping a tree down, as we strolled past them with our big tripod and DSLR in the cold, but these photos are always worth it. Because yes it was cold and yes Ethan's wearing his school uniform and yes we only managed to find one picture in ten (the others my Husband had his eyes fully shut in or they were totally out of focus) but stopping to get a photo each month with us all in has become something we love to do. It's amazing at the end of the year to have a full set to look back on and I love comparing the years and seeing how much we've changed.
As I said at the start of this post, we're pretty busy right now. November and December are busy work months for us as Adam's custom Lego business really picks up and sort of dominates these two months. Sometimes it's hard to juggle it all, but we'd much rather be busy than bored and we're so grateful that his business is doing well and that I'm earning a good income too through my blog and my youtube channel.
We're all really excited about Christmas. You might have seen that we had an early Christmas in November and so it's pretty awesome that this year we'll be having two! We've got all the presents for the boys sorted and I'm feeling pretty organised despite being busy, which is good.
My back has played up quite a bit lately, but between us, Adam and I have managed to keep things going quite well. We haven't let my issues with chronic pain define us, we've just worked around it and I love that as a team we are able to do that.
I can't wait for us to put our decorations up at the weekend and I can't wait to start counting down the days until Christmas with our advent calendars, it's such a wonderful time of the year, despite the cold, isn't it? I hope you all have a wonderful December and an amazing Christmas build-up and day with your families. ♡
