Ways to Weigh
As parents we know just how important it is to ensure that our babies are healthy and are gaining the right amount of weight.Usually during Doctor visits, the Doctor will weigh baby and then update their development book. But it's also recommended that we take our babies along to 'weighing clinics' - which are usually run by midwives. This is so that we can keep a record of baby's weight development and make sure that they are growing as they should be. There are, however, alternatives to this and one of those alternatives is weighing baby at home - which is what I do with my Son Ethan. To weigh Ethan I use the Withings Smart Kid Scales (seen below).
An overview
Withings Smart Kid Scale allows you to monitor your baby's/child's growth and will very easily convert from baby to toddler scales up to the weight of 25 kg. The Smart Kid Scale offers accuracy to 10 grams and provides a weight reading for your baby in just literally seconds. The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled scale measures weight accurately and will automatically synchronise with your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch using the Withings Baby Companion app which is very easily downloaded for free from Apple's App store. The bluetooth connectivity to this app means that you don't have to input the data from the scales yourself - which is incredibly handy as it means you can just get on with getting baby dressed again and not have to worry about noting down the weight. The app is very cleverly designed to compare your baby's weight reading with the typical weight of other babies of the same age and gender, giving you peace of mind.

Owning these scales has made life a hell of a lot easier for me when it comes to keeping on top of tracking Ethan's weight development. I weigh Ethan probably around once a week and instantly get an accurate reading, the data is then automatically transferred onto my Withings app ready for me to review later on after I've got Ethan dressed and settled. I really like the modern LCD display which makes the scales easily readable. I've come to realize that it is vital that these scales are on a completely flat surface whilst in use.. When I first got them I (stupidly) tried to weigh Ethan with the scales sitting on carpet - I got completely different and inaccurate readings each time. That was until the light bulb clicked in my head and I moved the scales to a totally flat and even surface, after which I have had no problems whatsoever!I love owning the Withings Smart Kid scales. Having these scales in the house, ready to hand whenever I feel the need to check Ethan's weight means no having to be available on weighing day at the clinic, no queueing, no time-frame, I get to weigh Ethan when I want to.
