The Nature Walk

Having a dog makes you go outside more than not having a dog. It's that simple.
I have worked with Kyle on Monday and Tuesday already. Now it is Wednesday. It's so gorgeous outside, no humidity, lots of sun and a cool breeze. I decide to crush a walk with the dog.
I used MapMyRun (www.mapmyrun.com) to figure out how long we actually went. It was just over 3km. Which isn't too bad. It was so nice yesterday and I really don't feel like I spend enough time outside. I wouldn't consider myself a nature "lover" exactly, but I think I am a pretty good human when it comes to the outdoors. I never litter, I recycle, I do enjoy outdoor activities like running, skiing, tennis and I never leave the water running when I brush my teeth.
So I have to tell you, speaking of nature, Eric and I watched a show on Sunday night called Monster Bug Wars. Have you ever heard of this program? It's basically footage of two types of bugs battling each other to the death.

This is normally not my type of TV show, but I have to admit it ended up being pretty interesting. I try never to judge people for the types of TV programs that they watch, unless you watch re-runs of Arrested Development on Netflix, then I judge you to be AWESOME.
Kyle mentioned on Tuesday when we last saw each other that he would like to communicate more with me when we are not together and that he wanted me to prepare fish this week. I plan to prepare some tilapia for dinner and yes we have been communicating a little bit more this week.

Hey Tara, just taking a break from a couple phone calls, but I was wondering how things are going ?  How have you eaten since Tuesday morning’s workout ?
What were the 3 best things you ate from Tuesday to now ?
What were the 3 worst things you ate from Tuesday to now ?

My response?
   3 best:
1.Chicken and nuts for breakfast (Mon, Tues, Wed)2.Mushroom, asparagus & spinach frittata (dinner Tuesday)3.Turkey sandwich on gluten free bread with cucumber, spinach and sprouts
3 worst:
1.McDonalds (Monday night)2.A lot of peanut butter (all the time)3.Onion rings (Wednesday night)
Don't ask questions you don't want the answers too...
Although truth be told, if I had known I was going to have to respond to this type of email, I would NOT HAVE HAD THOSE ONION RINGS. This is a perfect example of why everyone needs someone to hold them accountable. Maybe not a personal trainer, but a friend or family member that can help you stay on track. Sending an email is something so small but can make such a big difference. Today has been an impeccable day of eating for me as I am nervous that another check in email might appear from Kyle and I want to be able to report good news.
So how was my walk? Great. Walks are not lame or only for the elderly. I recommend that whatever you do for a living or wherever you live, that you try and spend a little time outside every day-doggy or not.
Happy Reading,
