The New Year Little Red Book!- ¡El Librito Rojo Del Año Nuevo!

ENG. Even if we don’t want it to, the New Year always brings a lot of reflection. You look back at the past year and you always try to see where things went right, where they didn’t, what you would have done differently and what you would definitely love to repeat the next year.

Also, the New Year brings new hopes, opportunities and aspirations… new beginnings and hopefully new goals and dreams to pursue. I believe we should always receive the New Year by being prepared. For me being prepared is having a little red book where I write down everything I want to do or change for the next year. When I was a kid my mom always made me write down my petitions and resolutions for the next year. Usually, on December 31^st we would go to church to present them. In that way it was kind of sealing a contract or a deal, where you let yourself and a higher being know your intentions and hopes for the New Year. Obviously my petitions or resolutions did not always come true, in part because many things change during the year and therefore your desires change too. But this was always a good way to keep track, focus and remain faithful about what I wanted out of the New Year, and this is also the reason why I kept this tradition through the years.

I encourage people to do the same, because you will be surprised at the end of the year how many things you will cross out of the list because you actually accomplish them.  Or you will be surprised of how much you have changed and hopefully grown since the time you wrote down things that later don't seem to matter anymore! I even encourage you to look at it every 3 or 4 months just to remind yourself where you want to go.

So I hope all of you have a fantastic end of the year with your loved ones! And if for some reason that is not possible and you are alone celebrate it too because remember, it is already a blessing that you are alive! See you all next year! And don’t forget to write down your petitions and resolutions! For sure one of mine is to keep bringing you guys love, fun and inspiration through my blog!

ESP. Aunque no queramos, el Año Nuevo siempre trae un poco de reflexión a nuestras vidas. Miramos el año que está terminando y siempre tratamos de ver qué salió bien, qué falló, qué hubieras hecho diferente, y definitivamente, ¡qué te encantaría repetir el próximo año!

El nuevo año siempre trae nuevas esperanzas, oportunidades y aspiraciones… nuevos comienzos y nuevos sueños y metas para perseguir. Yo creo que siempre deberíamos recibir el nuevo año estando preparados. Para mí estar preparada es tener mi cuaderno rojo pequeño donde escribo todo lo que quiero hacer o cambiar el próximo año. Cuando era niña mi mamá siempre me hacía escribir mis peticiones y resoluciones del próximo año. Usualmente el 31 de diciembre íbamos a la iglesia a presentarlas. De esa manera era como dejar sellado un contrato donde dejabas saber a tí mismo y a un ser supremo tus intenciones y esperanzas para el año que estaba por comenzar. Obviamente no todas las peticiones o resoluciones se cumplían, algunas veces por que las cosas cambian tanto durante el año que también tus deseos cambian con ellas. Pero esto siempre era un buen modo de permanecer enfocado y encaminado con fe a lo que quería del próximo año, por eso conservo la tradición hasta ahora.

Yo los animo a que hagan lo mismo porque se sorprenderán al final del año todas las cosas que van a tachar de la lista por que las han logrado, o se sorprenderán de algunas que ya no son tan importantes por que han madurado y muchas cosas en sus vidas han cambiado. También los animo a que inclusive los revisen cada 3 ó 4 meses para recordarse a ustedes mismos sus metas de este año.

Espero que tengan un fantástico fin de año con sus seres queridos, y si por alguna razón esto no es posible y están solos, celebren de todas maneras, porque recuerden: ¡Ya es una bendición que estén vivos! ¡Nos vemos el próximo año, y no se olviden de escribir sus peticiones y resoluciones! ¡De seguro una de las mías es continuar dándoles amor y divertidas inspiraciones aquí en mi blog!
