The Not-so Melt, Melt!

I have had the same hair for 4 years, maybe longer. For as long as I can remember the only thing I wanted with my hair was for it to be long. About 5 years ago I felt like I passed that middle phase where my hair was kind-of long and made it into the crowd with long hair! I am no rapunzel by any means, but I do have long hair.
I went dark in like 11th grade and never went light again. I would dilly dally with a couple things, but it mostly has remained just dark. About 2 years ago I found and incredible hair stylist, Cara, and she knows me really well. Whenever I have something in mind she mixes colors, gets out her snippers and nails the hair style. Back to 2 years ago, she mixed black with the darkest red possible and that was my color. I stuck with it until about 4 months ago. I decided to try to add some color at the bottom. I noticed it, but not one other person saw a difference. Since I have had one solid color for so long it's really hard for me to make a change and become a multi-colored hair girl.
I sent Cara a photo of Rachel Bilson with some caramel colored highlights at the bottom of her dark hair. It's not really a melt, but if I had to put it in a category it would be in the melt category.
I really love the change up. It may not look drastic, but it feels like it is!

What do you think?I can tell the biggest difference in the middle photos where I am facing forward and I like it!Have you ever made a big hair change before?
