If you asked me what it's like to be a Mum, I'd tell you the truth.. it's the absolute best thing in the world. It makes me feel whole, content and gives me more purpose than I ever realised it was possible to have. I can't put into exact words what it feels like to grow a baby with the person you love and then take that baby under your wing and watch, with your guidance and influence, them grow and turn into a little person. It's a sort of magic that words so often fail to describe accurately.
And I love to attempt to capture some of that magic here on my blog. I like the idea of capturing it and keeping it forever. I feel like I don't ever want to forget any of the little details.. the ordinary moments..
But besides the wondorous magic that comes with being a parent, there is also an adventure to be had. It's a journey .. a challenge. It's a journey of ups and downs, of self discovery - on everyones part. It's a learning curve - a huge one. The journey, like most journeys, isn't always easy. In fact sometimes it can be do difficult that you almost feel like you're falling apart, like it's breaking you, for just that one moment. But the thing is with this journey that you're on, is that you never want to leave it. It can sometimes feel like you stand defeated at the very bottom of a very tall imaginary mountain, you may feel weak, you may feel powerless and overwhelmed by it, but there's no way you'll ever quit. You'll take a moment, a breather.. you'll gather your thoughts and compose yourself and then you'll pick yourself back up and you'll carry on knowing that that indescribable magic that you know so well is waiting for you just right around the very next corner..
