The Ordinary Moments: Practising Big Brother Duties
Posted on the 29 March 2015 by Alex_bumptobaby @bumptobaby_blogI posted this on my Instagram last week. It's a collage I threw together of a few photos that I snapped of Ethan at playgroup on Tuesday. He usually plays on the slide or with a few of the many toy cars, but last week he wouldn't let go of this baby doll that he found. He was pushing it around in the toy pram and carrying an empty beaker around with him so that he could give the baby some drink.
It really melted my heart, as part of me wonders if he understands that I'm carrying a baby, his brother, around in my tummy. I tell him all of the time to try and get him to understand, but it's hard to know if he really does. I personally think he knows somethings going on and all the baby talk his Dad and I do, helps him to understand more and more.
Ethan is incredibly sweet when it comes to showing affection to other children or babies and I just know he'll make the best big brother ever. I cannot wait to see his face when he realises that he has a little brother. It will be one of those moments that will no doubt stay with me forever.
