The Puppy Blow-Out

You know how getting a puppy always sounds like a good idea? Well first off, let me say it totally is. Go out and get a puppy.
Second of all let me tell you that sometimes I have to say "I LOVE Indie" over and over because having a puppy is hard work, I mean it helps that Indie has the cutest face known to man-kind. Let me give you a list of things you forget when your oldest puppy is 2 and then you get a brand new baby to take care of.
The puppy blow-out: Sometimes puppies pee on themselves. Not only on themselves but on everything! For instance, it may be 6am and your puppy is crying and you're annoyed and then you smell a horrible pee smell, so you hop out of bed before your alarm goes off.  Indie sleeps in his kennel and probably peed a few hours prior to 7am so it stunk up our whole room plus it had soaked into his fur - so he stinks really bad. The pee also has spilled out of his kennel onto our bed sheets and our nice carpet floor. Fun thing to wake up to.
The inappropriate playing: Puppies are hyper! Indiana wants to play with your shoe laces, chew on the chair legs, run laps around your feet, jump on your legs, scratch your arms, pull his bowls out, take golf balls and throw them around the house and all of this happens in an hours time.

The potty struggle: I forgot how hard it is to potty train.
Training for hours: Sit, lay down, stay, stop, NO. You normally work on these commands one at a time and they take a while to master. You forgot how much you LOVE when your dog sits when you tell them to.

So there it is. Sometimes puppies are hard work. By the way that puppy blow out happened this morning. Pee was everywhere! I still can smell pee on my hands and puppy pee is the most potent. I have washed my hands a million times today.. yuck!
Luckily Indie is so damn cute and even though he is naughty I really love that baby boy.

Have you ever had a puppy and forgotten how much work they can be?
