The Saga of Office Boy: The Perfect Man.
Previously on The Saga of Office Boy: The Show, Part Two (as explained by Office Boy)
A couple of months ago, I was systematically going through my Google Reader, as I do every morning at work and I clicked on Alice's blog, The Rabbit Hole of Alice
On her way to work that morning, she had been listening to the radio and they were discussing a study that was conducted by a British clothing company called Austin Reed. They did a survey of 2,000 women to discover the traits of the "perfect man" and came up with a list of twenty-six.
When most females in a relationship come across a list of this nature, there's usually two reactions: compare your current man to the list to see how he stacks up or ignore it. I did the former and was somewhat surprised with what I discovered.
Here's the list:
PhysicalSix feet tall (Office Boy: check)Muscularly toned/athletic (Office Boy: check)Brown eyes (Office Boy: check)Short, dark hair (Office Boy: check)Smooth chest (Office Boy: check)Clean shaven (Office Boy: check)Good fashion sense, but can be ready in under 17 minutes (Office Boy: check)Wears jeans and v-neck sweaters (Office Boy: check)
HabitsNon-smoker (Office Boy: check)    Prefers beer over wine or cocktails (Office Boy: check)Admits when he looks at other women (Office Boy: check)Eats meat (Office Boy: check)
EducationCollege degree (Office Boy: check)Earns over 76,000/year (Office Boy: check)Drives an Audi (Office Boy: not check)
HobbiesLoves shopping (Office Boy: not check)Watches football (Office Boy: not check)Can swim and ride a bike (Office Boy: check)Knows how to change a tire (Office Boy: check)Has a drivers license (Office Boy: check)Likes dramas and reality shows (Office Boy: check)
Other StuffCalls his mom twice a week (Office Boy: check) Says "I love you" only when he means it (Office Boy: check)Is sensitive when you're upset (Office Boy: check)Has a good sense of humor (Office Boy: check)Wants a family (Office Boy: check)
For those of you keeping score at home, there's 26 traits. Office Boy has 23 of those traits.
Clearly a survey of women has no bearing on what I consider the "perfect man." In fact, in a lot of respects, Office Boy is the complete opposite of what I thought I would end up with and/or get along with and be attracted to, but as you all have seen over these last several months, he has turned out to be absolutely wonderful.
It just made me giggle that he was so close to 2000 British women's idea of "the perfect man."
