I always wondered what it would be like to have a two and a four year old, I remembering wondering about how close they might be. I wondered if it would feel easier than having a 2 year old and a newborn did. And I'm pleased to say that Ethan and Logan are close, they have a really special bond and they spend their time together mostly just being crazy and giggling, getting up to mischief and generally being a cheeky as possible. When they're not doing that, they either get on with their own things separately or they squabble over one particular toy and try to wind each other up.
I don't know if I would describe life with a 2 year old and a 4 year old as any easier than it was when Logan was a new baby and Ethan was 2. It's not easier, it's just different and I think it will be always be that way as they get older. They'll always be new challenges as we overcome other hurdles.
Logan at 2 is really starting to show us how much he understands of what we are saying. Neither of my boys were early speakers, they seem to soak up their knowledge of words and the understanding of what we're saying and then just as Ethan did, I'm sure Logan will just suddenly explode with a few sentences and let us know that he feels ready to start talking.
Ethan at 4, is at an age where we are attempting to do our best to teach him to be able to do a few more things for himself, he is more independent than ever before but of course still so new to the big wide world. He will be full time in reception come September and we can't quite believe how fast it feels like it's come around. Since starting pre-school Ethan has changed a lot, he's grown up a lot, but he's also struggled with tiredness and we just hope he'll be ok and get used to being at school full time when September comes. Of course as Ethan has realised that he has his own opinions and as he grows up more and more, we've seen some attitude from him, but on the whole he is such a kind, caring and smart little boy. He loves animals and is very affectionate. He has an amazing memory and just loves learning as many facts as he can about different things.
It never gets old watching these two together - seeing them together will always be my most favorite thing. They both make my heart burst with pride and even when they are making me feel a little bit grey, I honestly couldn't be any happier to be able to call myself their Mum.
