The Sound of Sunshine, #698

My children are happy campers.  When I showed up to pick them up from camp yesterday, they begged me to stay for the after-hours post care program.  They didn’t want to come home, and for a Mom, that is the best message you could possibly get.

As soon as my son saw me, he shrieked, “I can’t leave yet, Mom!!!  I’m getting a rock star guitar!”  Whatever he was talking about, I knew it was important to him, so I followed him as he raced after his group.  He was given his “rock star guitar” and showed it to me with pride shining through his eyes.

Yes, my son had a really good day.

My daughter’s day was great, too.  She went on a field trip and was only disappointed that her camp “crush” didn’t show up.  She made new friends and played with old ones and is all around happy!  She was especially excited to show me the little stuffed animal lizard she bought in the gift shop.

Camp is such a carefree experience and watching my kids enjoying it is one of the best things ever!  It fills me with joy, too.  That is why I chose one of the happiest songs I could find.  Michael Franti and Spearhead’s “The Sound of Sunshine” definitely fits the bill.  Click HERE to hear it.  I can assure you all, the “sound of sunshine” is summer camp!
