Last week I told you about how Logan and I had been getting on with using the carrycot attachment on the absolutely beautiful pushchair that is the Stokke Crusi. This week I want to show you how the Crusi can transform from being used with the carrycot to being used as a pushchair for older children. I also want to show you how it can transform so that you can use the Crusi with more than one child, using the Sibling Seat.
I said it in my last post and I'd really like to reiterate it - the Stokke Crusi really is designed to adapt to a families ever changing needs. I said to Adam the other day, that it's just like a transformer, it feels like there's nothing it can't do. It's a very clever pushchair with a very smart design.
The sibling seat can be used with the normal pushchair attachment (as seen above) or underneath the carrycot (as seen below). It's worth noting that the sibling seat can only be used from six months, which is why there aren't any photographs of Logan (aged one month) using it. We tried Ethan (aged two years and nearly four months) in it, underneath Logan in his carrycot, but though he didn't seem particularly uncomfortable, he just wasn't very happy being in it. I think this probably has a lot to do with his age and the fact that Ethan is happy to walk rather than use a pushchair these days. I think we'll really feel the full benefit of the Sibling Seat when Logan gets to around six months old and it can be used underneath Ethan in the pushchair (for the days when we're out for a long day and Ethan wants to use a pushchair if and when he gets tired).
As a pushchair the Stokke Crusi is just perfect. I think what I love the most is that even though Ethan is two years and nearly four months old, he looks so comfortable and seems to have so much room still inside of it. He's even able to still rest his legs on the foot rest. I've found some other pushchairs and strollers to appear to be too small for Ethan - he's looked either squished, uncomfortable or too long in others and I've previously even felt worried about his posture. But I really don't have any concerns whatsoever about Ethan being in the Stokke Crusi, in fact every time Ethan uses it, I always think that he looks a bit like a king sitting on his throne. He looks that comfortable in it that I sort of wish I could exchange places with him!
The huge shopping basket below is just as accessible as it is when it's in use with the carrycot, which is obviously great and I love the height of the Crusi and the fact that Ethan sits higher in it than he seems to when in other pushchairs. My Husband who's shorter than me has said that he thinks it's a little too big height-wise, but I really like that about it, I think it's just personal choice really. One of my favorite things about the Crusi is the hood on the pushchair - I love how far it comes over and how gorgeous it looks when it is pulled over. I also like that the handle bar height is easily adjustable. The Crusi is easy to put both up and down and it's incredibly simple to change between attachments. Overall I think that it's a really clever, adaptable pushchair that is obviously very visually stunning - so much so in fact, that when we've been out and about with it, we've even had quite a few really nice compliments about it from people that we don't even know.
