The Sunday Sort-Out

Posted on the 20 May 2012 by Whattowearfor @whattowearfor

As I work all week, I hate wasting my weekends lounging around being a general slob so I always try and make sure I get as much out of them as I can. I like to spend time with my friends, boyfriend and family and try and organize fun days out or weekends away regularly. However, sometimes it’s also nice to spend my weekend having a good sort-out of my flat, and life in general, and this is exactly what I did today.

Firstly, I like to plan what I’m going to wear to work for the week, and make sure its all washed and ironed. This saves so much time and effort in the mornings and means the getting ready process is a lot less stressful.

I make sure I put a load of laundry on with anything I will need, and its also the day I do wash all the dirty towels and tea towels that have accumulated throughout the week.

I then do the weekly food shop on the Tesco website. This is so much easier than going to the supermarket and saves me from buying too much junk food. The website has a recipe section which allows me to plan our meals for the week, and with one click of a button it can all be added to your basket – simples. It costs somewhere between £3-£6 to have it delivered which I think is justified since I’ve probbably saved that just by not buying all the rubbish I would normally add to the trolley. The times are also very convenient, 7 days a week from very early in the morning until 11pm. This then means I know we have everything for a good, nutritious and yummy dinner every night when we both get home from work.

Sunday is also the day I change our bedsheets – there really is nothing nicer than getting into a freshly made bed with clean sheets and I like to make sure they are washed weekly.

I then move onto some serious beauty maintenance to make sure I’m ready for the working week ahead. I like to pluck my eyebrows, apply a facemask, do all my hair removal and wash and style my hair ready for Monday morning. I also make sure I manicure my fingers and toes, exfoliate and moisturise and apply one of those fake tan mositruisers to my legs since they are so much paler than the rest of me.

To finish the evening off, I cook a yummy meal for both of us and then we usually settle down and watch a film or something together with some Ben and Jerry’s or perhaps a bottle of Crabbies – tonight I made a quick pasta dish which I smothered in cheese and washed down with some sauvignon blanc. The Sunday Sort-Out

I find days like this really are the perfect way to end the weekend and prepare for the week ahead.
