The Timing Was Superb!

This weekend was just what Jared and I needed. I wrote a post a few weeks ago about the gloomy world I have been creating for myself to live in. This weekend conquered that gloomy bitch. There is nothing worse than feeling down about things that you cannot control like the weather, workload or other people. Friday I had the day off work, since we originally planned to go back to Lake Powell, but ended up deciding to stay closer to town. All day Friday I prepared for our weekend getaway (along with a few naps). Later that evening we went up to the DeMann family cabin with 2 of my sister-in-laws, their hubby's, 1 of my brother-in-laws and his wife and another couple that is non-related, but they definitely should be.
It was the best weekend away even though it was only 45 minutes from home.

Sometimes it's REALLY nice to leave your cell phone untouched, leave the dogs at my parents house, and have some time where J and I can just get away. It's also nice with a group of people that J and I can spend time as individuals with our friends. People who we can laugh with, joke with, watch football with, play games together , do puzzles and just relax.Which only makes us happier and more in love with each other.
When we picked up our pups and arrived home on Sunday I felt a huge deep breath of happy optimistic air (that's totally real) fill up my lungs. I felt the brisk fall breeze on my face, crunched some leaves under my feet, walked into my door and felt happily content. It was the happiest I have felt in a few weeks. I would say I've been between %60-%70 happy in the past and finally this weekend brought my happy levels to their highest.
I couldn't tell you why this weekend was so perfect in words, because to anyone else it was just a cabin trip. To me it felt like a new outlook or maybe just restoring my old one. Whatever it was, I needed it and am still riding the cabin high.

On another really great note: Jared is nicer than Santa. He has been working his tail off to get my card refunded for the BS charges CBN (consumer benefits network) placed on my card. There was a total of $499. His first attempt he was able to get $99.80 refunded and they were set on being dickholes about it and not giving the rest back. I think a lot of people would have settled and said lesson learned. Luckily Jared is the most persistent and patient person on earth.  He called everyday for the past 4 weeks and yesterday IT HAPPENED! They agreed to refund the rest, $399.20. That's going to be a welcomed check headed our way.
