The Veroc Saga Project Journal Entry #1

Posted on the 02 August 2011 by Jtneely @JoshuaNeely
Hello all,
All right, so tonight's VSP post as of this moment in time is only 759 words long as of 11:02PM EST (I do go back and edit these posts though), bringing the total word count, so far to 1,820 words, or 180 words shy of maintaining pace with an average 1,000 words a day. I plan on being back on track fully by tomorrow night. It sounds like an excuse (and it might be), but I actually spent this morning rewriting my post from yesterday (I rewrote it A LOT!). The important thing is that I'm writing. YAY! (This amount of enthusiasm, even across a digital medium, kind of scares me)
Anyways, I had the bright idea that I would accompany each post with a journal entry about my process. I find that I suffer from writers block each and every paragraph. Not in that I don't know what I want to write about (the "movie" in my head is clear enough), but I find it difficult to determine how I want to write the words to hopefully evoke the same or startlingly similar movie in the reader's head. Maybe I am reading too much into it (no pun intended). That's why I spent the majority of my time actually rewriting yesterday's post. I wanted to nail the imagery. As of tonight, I've found doing so particularly difficult when describing Geyser as I'm not the most knowledgeable person with nautical terminology and determining when everyman words would be better.
My thoughts for the day; Gute Nacht everyone,
J.T.
P.S. Added a page available on the right hand side that features a sample post from The Veroc Saga Project.
