When Dave and I were taking our engagement photos, eons ago, we decided our official photos would be inside art galleries or outside next to vandalized brick walls and industrialized machinery.
Our photographer happily snapped the pictures we wanted, and then asked if we would mind posing for a few normal shots for her own portfolio. We agreed, so she drove us to the beach.
Dave and I chatted as she set up her tripod– about taxes of all things– and while we weren’t paying attention, she snapped these. I guess we were in good enough spirits that Dave didn’t mind wearing his nice pants to the beach and I didn’t mind the sand in my toes, because we seem pretty carefree despite being so out of our element.
It’s comforting to know that, even years later or in the midst of necessary but boring conversations, Dave is still magically creating reasons for me to celebrate and spin.
If you haven’t met Dave yet, you can swing by his blog and say hey. There he goes by his artist name, Grayson Queen:

I’ve noticed that I’m always more fond of photographs of myself when they’re taken in series. I think it’s because I’m usually in motion and still photos just don’t look like me (to me).
Are you always fluttering about, like me, or are you more like Dave?
