THESE DAYS...
THESE DAYS...
These days... these days are flying by.  These days are stretching into weeks, which are bundling into months, and, honestly, I am struggling to keep up.  Although the city is in full holiday swing, I keep telling myself that we still have a month until Christmas.  We have plenty of time to make decorations, decorate cookies, and snuggle on the couch drinking peppermint hot cocoa... Plenty of time to send out cards, go see the the holiday windows, and walk down the lit-up avenues. And then I see a calendar and realize that whoa, Christmas is three weeks! And Hanukah begins in just a couple of days!
The thing is, these days have been really full.  Full of adventuring through the city with a bundled toddler.. full of riding subways, singing songs, cooking meals, and reading storybooks.. full of witnessing one baby turn into a little girl while another steadily grows in my belly, and watching as their Papa falls more and more in love with both of them.  These days, Biet has been smitten with music (Bob Dylan, to be exact), and has taken to putting on albums all day to listen to whilst having dance parties with herself in the living room.  Aside from "playing" guitar with her Papa, this is her favorite thing to do.  After witnessing her love of movement and music, I took it upon myself to find her a mini pair of ballet slippers. She loves them.
These days have been long, and full, and tiring, and happy. I'm not quite sure just how we are going to fit even more adventures and food and projects into our lives, but, by golly, we must. Because the most wonderful time of year is upon us, and I have an inkling that Biet will simply adore the holiday festivities.  These days are about to become even more hectic and energetic and wonderful, and I am excited. After all, these days come but once a year.
