…think

In a world over-run with technology, there’s something comforting about those few low-tech options still available to us—pen and paper, face to face conversations, the un-monitored bike ride.

Few corners of our lives remain unhackable, Ford’s working on “fixing” that. Proto-types for not one, but two smartbikes are in the works.

That way once the hackers are finished with your email, social media accounts, security system, smart fridge, and smart car, they can move on to your bike. Not to mention how easy we’re making it for our future robot overlords. Thanks to power-assist pedaling, we won’t even have the leg strength to flee.

Don’t get me wrong. The concept is amazing, the reality is terrifying. Cyclists, just like drivers, don’t need more distractions when they’re peeling down the bike lane. In this case, the smart part of the bike may be misplaced.
