Third Time's a Charm.

I started last year with this post.
It was fully my intention to spend a full year writing my thoughts on C.S. Lewis' thoughts from that devotional book each day. But then January got a little busy so I thought, "Well, maybe not every day, but the very thought provoking days." But then February got even busier and I fell behind and before March arrived I had stopped altogether.
In some respects, I hope this year will be busy, if for no other reason than right now I need busyness or I will go crazy because of the things going on in my life that I wish weren't happening.
But I've decided that this year, I'm really going to do it. So much of life about choices and priorities and one of my overarching goals is to make writing more of a priority in my life. This means more journaling, more book-writing, and more blogging. I will still be posting often here at Shades of Shayes. My initial goal for the year is three posts a week. As much as I'd like to say my goal is five posts a week, I think that would, in the end, become too stressful for me, especially with this new project starting up.
The plan is simple. It's the same as it was last year and the time before that I tried it.
Take the book A Year With C.S. Lewis. Read the excerpt from Lewis' writings each day. Think about those excerpts and write a post articulating my thoughts on them each day.
Some days the posts might be long. Other days, the posts may be only a couple of paragraphs. But I want to commit to writing. I want to commit to not only writing but writing about my faith and I know that this is one way I can keep myself continually learning, questioning, investigating, and growing in my faith this year.
I know that some of you are not people of faith, but I hope you'll stop by A Year With C.S. Lewis on occasion. I hope that you'll join in the discussion. I want this blog to truly be an interactive project. I'm starting with Lewis' thoughts and expounding upon them with mine and I want you to share yours as well.
Won't you join me this year, as I spent some time with C.S. Lewis? Hopefully the third time's a charm.
