This and That

I can't believe Bug will be 3 on Monday! The last 3 years have flown by!
We're not having a big party this year. Tomorrow my mom, sister, Bug and I are going out for a birthday brunch and maybe a little shopping. Monday evening we'll have a spaghetti dinner at home (Bug and C both love spaghetti), I'll bake a little chocolate heart shaped birthday cake and we'll give her her gifts. She wants a "heart" cake and can't stop talking about it! The following weekend we'll probably get together with my in-laws and have a little celebration.
This past Thursday we took the kids to the Stock Show. They had a great time! I need to post pics soon.
Thursday morning my husband's niece's 7 month old daughter had open heart surgery. Thankfully everything went great and she's recovering well.
I'm in the middle of making some fun Valentine's Day gifts for my husband! I'll share them later.. after they're finished and probably after Valentine's Day.
I haven't been doing well on my goals/New Year's Resolutions. I need to re-focus on all that next week. I'm determined to lose weight and keep it off. One of my main goals for the year is to do a 3k or 5k or maybe two! I haven't started working out on a regular basis, as of today, but there's a 5k coming up at the end of April. Am I completely crazy for thinking I can do that if I start working out and running today? Or is April way too soon for a 5k? I can't find a 3k in the spring but I'd like to have a goal for the spring rather than wait for the fall.
Another goal of mine is too step up my social life! I need to spend time with friends! Luckily we go to home group every week or I'd have almost no social life whatsoever. We have lots of friends and connections but need to make an effort to actually get together and do something once in a while. Bible study is starting soon so that will help out too. I've been stuck in such a rut.
