Sure, there was only one surgery, and a couple of deaths, that directly impacted me...but there was also other "stuff" that most of ya'll are not privy too. (please don't throw rocks at me - I really don't throw-up all over my blog as much as I would like to).
Any who, with those changes comes a moment of enlightenment - both personal and professional.
The upside is, hubby and I are finally enjoying our marriage by putting ourselves first. So as I told him, I am officially requesting that our newlywed status gets reinstated. (no joke).
Health wise, my thyroid blows - literally. So although I am one big fat heifer my skin looks crazy radiant - for a forty-year-old. The upside: I can go back to the gym! (Collective claps inserted here).
Lastly, career-wise there's a lot of changes. Not in a bad way, I promise. Just more people added to the mix that will take
Now going back to the blog - that's where a lot of changes will be happening. First off, my hubby is crazy supportive of what I do and write here (crazy, I know!), which makes my decisions so much easier.
To start, it's no secret that I am a card carrying member of the "over 40" club and that I am not a traditional Latina by any means. I also have finally embraced a comment that I always thought was a put-down: being called a "snob" or a "nerd."
I am both.
And finally, with my age I can say this proudly: I am a snobbish nerd.
So be it.
Adding all those things together -including learning's from the shitty 2012 changes- this blog will be revamped in such a way that makes me, and hopefully you, incredibly proud.
For starters, this blog will have AMAZING contributors, both Latinas and non-Latinas, because guess what? I don't just do lunch with Latinas.
Secondly, the blog will focus on women that share in our interests: upscale women that have a strange fascination with the 99cent store, but won't step foot in a hotel with less than three stars. (Just to give you an idea)
We also cook, with high-end EVOO, and organic greens...yet shop at Forever 21 for tank tops, because we are saving money for our $500 boots. We have quality and designer furniture, yet many of us can't change a light bulb. Some of us are married, but we choose not to have children. Others have been entrusted with the care of their stepchildren.
We are the new Latina...the new woman.
And this blog, your blog, will be a place where you will find tips, tools, resources, and other information for women just like you - observations on life with a bit of sass and a whole lot of class!
Welcome to the club my friends, for not fitting a traditional role...you can now all officially be called cabezonas!
