To Double Buggy Or Not To Double Buggy?!
Posted on the 18 March 2015 by Sparklesandstretchmarks @raine_fairyWith my due date for baby number 2 fast approaching, I've been finding myself panicking more and more lately about what is left to organize and what things we may need that I may have overlooked.
One of the main concerns on my mind of late has been the question of whether or not to purchase a double pushchair.
Tyne will be turning 2 at the end of this month, about a week before the new baby arrives.
But for around the last 6 months or so, he hasn't really used his own pushchair very much at all.
Usually he prefers to walk when we're out and about, or if we're going somewhere that will require a lot of walking we usually take his Smartrike and he goes in that when he wants a rest.
But of course, things are easier with just one child to consider...if we're out and he does get tired, he can ask for a carry and one of us will hold him....that won't be so easy to do with a new baby to push around too.
So I've been trying to decide if a double pushchair is an investment we should make, or whether it's going to be an unnecessary expense.
I find it hard to make the decision as I'm not overly keen on many of the double pushchairs on the market - I have been doing a bit of research however, and if we do decide to go for one I think the Bugaboo Donkey is the one that looks the most appealing - it seems compact and easy to fold up, and stylish to look at too...whereas so many of the ones available look excessively bulky and difficult to manoevre!
I'm not overly familiar with Bugaboo brand having never purchased from them before, but I've been reading up about them and they seem to have a very good reputation for quality and ease of use which is reassuring.
Of course the other options are to invest in a buggy board, or just to wait and see how we get on without a double pushchair once the new baby is actually here.
If you experienced life with a toddler and new born, did you go for a double pushchair or did you find it easy to manage without one?
As always, I'd love to hear from you!
