To The Moods That Come And Go

Posted on the 01 February 2013 by Abstractartbylt @artbylt

Like a puppet being blown by the wind, I am blown this way and that by the moods that come and go.

1

A mood is a fickle lover, improving with good news, getting surly with bad.

A mood does not have all the facts.

A mood can lift you up or throw you into the garbage heap.

A mood is a tyrant, best deceived with subterfuge.

Sometimes a mood can be bypassed by a brisk walk in the sun, rain or snow.  Brisk is the key factor.

2

A good mood paints the day with sun.

A bad mood turns out the lights.

A good mood jumps on the bandwagon.

A bad mood finds fault with every scheme.

A good mood has many talents.

A bad mood is a klutz at everything.

A good mood has many friends.

A bad mood is a grouchy hermit.

A good mood can carry you forward with energy to spare.

A bad mood can keep you from loving what you love.

Advice:

Embrace the mood and let it live large in your heart.  It only wants you to acknowledge and make peace with it.

Carry on through willpower:  take that brisk walk.  Pick up a paintbrush.  Do the laundry.  Get on an airplane.

Learn what is causing the mood:  twenty or thirty years of psychotherapy will help you to understand, if not to eliminate, these moods.

Change your thinking:  life isn’t full of shit and pain and suffering.  It’s a beautiful dance through golden fields.

I am a happy girl.  I will sing happy songs.

La la la, la la, la la.
