Toddler Tried & Tested: Pebli Town
We have recently been sent the fantastic Pebli town by Toys Alive for our little boy Tyne to review. Aimed at children of a pre-school age, Pebli Town is a new interactive toy filled with charming characters that connects with your smart phone or tablet device via a Bluetooth and a free App. By connecting your device, your child will be able to open up a whole world of play for the characters provided. The toy consists of a playing board, board cover, four characters (a Nurse, a Fireman, a baker and a Painter/Artist), as well as four pieces of scenery. The set also includes a dock cradle for your tablet device or smart phone, and is supported by some Android and Apple devices - we did have a slight issue in using the Pebli Mini with our Ipad Mini which is listed as a compatable device however we couldn't get the app to load once it was downloaded...however it worked fine on my iPhone and so my son has been using this to play with it.

With four interactive styles of gaming available including Games, Story Telling, Story Creator and Videos children are able to create their own adventures for the characters provided. The modes available are: * Story mode – Educational stories allowing children to discover new and exciting adventures by choosing the path the characters take.  There are 4 interactive stories with 22 alternative endings. * Game mode – Children can enjoy hours of engaging game play and test their problem solving and comprehension skills. 4 different games each with 25 levels. * Create mode – Children can choose their favorite characters, record their own voice, add special effects and direct stories. Then watch their creations back in the Pebli cinema. Unlimited opportunity to create stories. * Video mode – Access 200 pre-approved child friendly educational and entertaining videos, each relating to a Pebli Town character. By utilising ‘Hot Spot’ technology on the board and figures, the interaction and play with the characters on the board is directly loaded on to the tablet or smart phone. 99% of the gameplay is on the board so this means your child doesn’t have to interact with the tablet device or smart phone being used.

The character figures supplied are very cute whilst feeling well made and chunky-ideal for little hands whilst the scenery and board cover is charmingly illustrated and colourful. Tyne loves playing with the characters, having them talk to one another and even providing their voices as they ‘talk’, watching the adventures unfold.  Pebli Town has proven to be a real winner in our household and we can’t wait to see what sets will be released in the future.
Pebli Town retails at a recommended price of £59.99 from all major retailers, the Pebli Town app is free to download - please check that you have a compatible device before purchase
