Tooth Pain Relief Using Home Remedies For It . This pain is a fear for people, because it means visiting the dentist and bearing some very painful procedures that dentists too. Well, that is the common notion people have. Tooth pain is actually an ache that  can be caused by a number of dental issues. Sometimes, it is referred pain from other organs and locations, like trigeminal nerve, heart attack and other such serious causes.
Tooth pain causes : There is a long list of dental and non dental causes of toothache.
  • The major cause of tooth pain is disease in tooth, like cavities and tooth decay. Poor dental hygiene may play a role in this. 
  • Injury to the mouth or jaw can provoke tooth pain. Sometimes people get struck with a hard object which grinds or cracks some teeth, leading to sharp pain. 
  • Tooth infection by microbes can lead to loss of tooth mass or the tissue that support and hold them. These are progressive diseases which cause degeneration of teeth and subsequent pain. 
  • Gum diseases like gingivitis cause sharp pain. 
  • There may be pain after dental procedures like root canal, filling, crown and extraction. 
  • Teeth alignment procedures and equipment can also cause pain. So, getting braces, invisalign etc can be painful, although it is rare. 
  • Emergence of wisdom tooth can lead to the characteristic wisdom tooth pain 
Tooth pain is often quite painful because of the large number of nerve endings in the teeth. People who have highly sensitive teeth may feel pain even after eating a really cold food or drinking something chilled. Nowadays, there are specialized toothpastes to reduce such sensitivity of teeth to hot or cold temperature. 
Tooth pain can be relieved using home remedies. There are numerous home remedies for treating different kinds of toothache. This is how you can relieve tooth pain at home. 
Home remedies for tooth pain relief
  • Clove oil : Applying a few drops of clove oil on the painful area can make the pain vanish. It is a universally well known remedy for tooth pain which is used by people time and again. It has been known to soothe toothache since centuries. In fact, it is the best herbal remedy for this problem. 
  • Mouthwash with oregano and salt in warm water also relieves tooth pain. 
  • Applying warm olive on the outside, that is on the jaw or chin may soothe tooth pain for some time.
  • Applying ice or hot cloth may soothe the pain for some, but it actually can aggravate the pain as teeth are very sensitive to temperature changes. 
Even if the tooth pain is relieved by any of these remedies, then also one should visit the doctor. If there was pain without any obvious reason, then it may mean that tooth pain is a symptom of a serious underlying disease like trigeminal neuralgia, heart attack etc. 
If tooth pain is not paid attention to, then tooth decay may go on increasing in magnitude. Then, it may strike harder and cause sharp pain in tooth, sometimes unbearable.Excessive tooth decay requires extensive repair work and is challenge for the dentist too. A serious infection under the tooth may spread to the brain and can be really very dangerous.
