Ibiza is an island with many faces. Famous the world over as a party hotspot, the island also offers a calm Mediterranean island ideal for a family holiday. With much more going for it than party beaches and nightclubs, the White Island is a destination for everyone. If you’ve never considered taking the kids to Ibiza before, here are some reasons why you should.Travelling to Ibiza with the kidsImage by alias franjomolitor, used under Creative Commons license (CC BY 2.0)
Make a SplashIbiza is one of Europe’s finest water sports destinations. With beautiful beaches dotted all over the coast and warm waters aplenty, it is the ideal place to make a splash. Take the kiddies on a banana boat ride, or the family can try its hand at windsurfing. If you fancy getting a little closer to nature, then why not try snorkeling in one of the many scenic coves. If you want something a little more adrenalin fueled, then have a go on the San Antonio Twister Jets and fly across the waters at fifty miles an hour! With so much to do in the water your feet barely need to touch dry land!Travelling to Ibiza with the kidsImage by ashleyt, used under Creative Commons license (CC BY 2.0)Hit the MarketsLet the little ones spend some of their holiday pocket money at the fun and colourful Hippy Market in El Cana. There is everything from art, crafts, street food and assorted trinkets to be found. Or you could spend an afternoon touring the boutiques in Ibiza Town and take some Balearic fashion back home with you!
Go ZorbingIf you’ve never been to an air park, then Ibiza is for you. Offering fun for the whole family, Ibiza’s Air Zone Park covers over a thousand square metres and lets you all go zorbing around in the giant air balls. Roll down a slope, play zorb football, or roll over water, it’s up to you. It might sound crazy, but that’s because it is!Enjoy the Sun, Sea and Sand
Ibiza has more beaches than is fair for such a small island. Most of them are perfectly family friendly and are ideal for whiling the day away building sandcastles in the sunshine. Beaches like Es Cana Beach, Las Salinas, Cala Llonga and Talamanca Beach are some of the most picturesque in the Mediterranean and most are well appointed with all the amenities you need for a fun day by the seaside.
