Little black dresses (or more lovingly called as ‘LBD’) are a fashion classic...something that no women can ever go wrong with; these are like your BFFs that are always on your side no matter what the occasion/event is...
Over the years, many drastic changes have been seen in the designs, patterns, cuts and silhouettes of the LBD but the charm still remains the same…It is still considered as a fundamental must have in a women’s wardrobe collection. These babies often come as saviors in situations like last minute dinner dates, family functions, professional meetings…and the list goes on and on… A true LBD does not have any boundaries in terms of size, pattern, shape or price…whether it a size 2 or size 12 or whether it’s designed by Coco Channel herself or by some next door humble designer, it is still a little black dress (if made out perfectly). And everyone wants to own at least one perfect little black dress :)
Some fun facts about LBD:-The Oxford English Dictionary defines the LBD as "a simple black garment suitable for a woman to wear at most kinds of relatively formal social engagements." -Before Coco Chanel introduced it as a fashion color, black was primarily used for mourning.-Even a book has been dedicated to it: "Little Black Dress," by Amy H. Eldelman.-One of the most famous Little Black Dresses is the stunning dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961).
The best thing about an LBD is that it’s a complete outfit in itself…Just add a little bling and pointy shoes and you are good to go for a night out or just pair it with a fitted blazer and here you have your daytime outfit ready in minutes!!
