Trying London's Viral Food Spots: Eating Our Way Around The City!

My kids LOVE a TikTok Trend so on our recent visit to the capital, they were incredibly excited to try out some of the top viral food spots - so come along and join us on a culinary journey through London as we explore some of the hottest viral food spots in the city.

This tiny eatery has gained a massive following for its mouthwatering dishes, including the iconic Tteokbokki, a spicy rice cake dish, and Bulgogi, succulent marinated beef. The star of the show, however, is the Korean Corn Dog, which boasts a crispy outer layer and tender, flavorful meat. Bunsik's Instagram-worthy presentation and delicious flavors have made it a must-visit spot for food enthusiasts.
We all tried something different here - some went for the potato and mozarella corn dog which is a gooey mozarella center with crispy potato cubes on the outside, this gave a very satisfying cheese pull! My son went for the Octolegs which is half mozarella filling and half traditional corn dog, and he enjoyed having the best of both options. I kept it simple with the classic corn dog, adding Bunsik's signature Boldak mayo - I'm not a fan of corn dogs but I have to say, this was delicious and ended up being my favorite eat of the night! The spicy mayo really made all the difference.

   Nestled in London's Chinatown, The Bun House is a haven for lovers of fluffy, steamed buns. This quaint eatery offers an array of delectable options, from classic pork buns to creative, fusion-inspired fillings like lamb and cumin. The vibrant, Instagrammable decor adds to the charm of this spot, making it an irresistible destination for foodies seeking a taste of Chinese cuisine in a delightful setting.
I was too full to try anything here but my kids assure me that the buns were fluffy and delicious!
**3. Mamasons - Ube Ice Cream Extravaganza:**
   Mamasons, located in Camden and Chinatown, is your go-to destination for Filipino-inspired ice cream, particularly Ube (purple yam) ice cream. This was the thing my youngest had been most excited for... This vibrant, colorful treat not only delights the palate but also provides a feast for the eyes. My kids LOVED it!
 Whether you opt for the signature Ube ice cream or one of their other unique flavors like Buko Pandan or Mangga, you're in for a refreshing and visually stunning dessert experience that's perfect for your Instagram feed.
**4. Good Friend - Popcorn Chicken Paradise:**
   Crispy, flavorful, and downright addictive, Good Friend in London's Chinatown is renowned for its sensational popcorn chicken. This Taiwanese-style street food spot offers tender chunks of chicken marinated in a secret blend of spices, fried to golden perfection, and served with your choice of dipping sauces. 
Whether you're a fan of classic fried chicken or you prefer a spicy kick, Good Friend's popcorn chicken has earned its place as a viral sensation on London's food scene. Personally? I wasn't too keen but then I don't love chicken nuggets! If you do, I would give this a try as at £6 for a decent sized bag it's pretty good value and an easy one to share
**5. Chinatown Bakery - Pandan Cake Perfection:**
   Chinatown Bakery is a charming little bakery nestled amidst the vibrant streets of London's Chinatown. While they offer an array of delectable treats, it's their Pandan cake that has earned them a dedicated following. This fragrant, cloud-like light and fluffy, slightly sweet cake is infused with the tropical aroma of pandan leaves and is an absolute delight for the taste buds.

To me the flavor was reminiscent of pistachio, something I'm not overly keen on but my partner really loves and he enjoyed this thoroughly! We also tried the Taiyaki - a small, flaky pastry fish filled with sweet runny custard. I'm not a custard fan so these weren't for me but everyone else really enjoyed them and they certainly looked adorable!
**6. Humble Crumble in Spitalfields - Crumble Bliss:**
   Humble Crumble, located in the trendy Spitalfields area, is a dessert haven that has captured the hearts of London's sweet-toothed crowd. Specializing in mouthwatering fruit crumbles served piping hot with a dollop of ice cream or custard, this cozy spot offers a comforting and indulgent experience. You can even opt for a creme brulee topped crumble or design your own. I went for a toasted marshmallow topping with dried rose and it was delicious!
