Turnovers - Bake Along # 41

Been a while since I last baked along with the Bake Along trio, Zoe, Joyce and lena. This time Turnovers is the theme and I told myself this should be easy. Just buy a packet of puff pastry sheets and put in some fillings and bake. Little did I know the folding over part could be so difficult. Over fill it and you have the fillings spilling out and the turnovers splitting up like gaping mouths! However, too little fillings will not make delicious fold overs....Let's take a look at mine, sigh!

I used a combination of pears and apples, cooked with sugar and cinnamon and a pinch of salt for the filling. Obviously, I had a hard time getting the filling to stay in! There's too much liquid after cooking the fruits. So I made a 2nd batch.

I did not cook the filling on my 2nd attempt, just mix the fruits with cinnamon, sugar and salt. Looks better but the taste is not as good as those with cooked filling...:P The ones with gaping mouths got eaten up faster lol!

And a third attempt, I made savory turnovers using mince pork....these are the best looking of the 3 attempts! I am so happy with the results:D
