Trees are so beautiful and beneficial.
Ten years back it goes
That Mum gave me a mango ripe
Sweet as honey, it was
With a big huge seed inside
I wondered what to do with it
'Cause I was still in school
I'd learned about the plants and trees
And all the animals at zoo.
And about planting seeds
In soil, that grow up
To miraculously huge trees
I needed to see that for myself
Curious, I asked my Mum.
"In our garden," says she
That I did, 'cause as a kid
I wanted my own tree!
Ten years hence, it was
Big and strong and leafy
Proving shade and shelter
To colourful birds in the territory.
Our neighbours on the upper floors
Did complain my Mum, one day
That the Sun is blocked by its leaves
"Cut the branches," they had said.
Hearing it, my Mum was shocked
And for it, I said not
This tree is mine, I planted it
And with that it was saught
The tree grew tall and happy
And with the days to come
One fine morning, my Mum
Happy as a bird, was showing me some -
There I saw to my surprise!
Four green mangoes, like pixies
High up on the top branches
My tree's first born babies!
