…use the Force

It’s the eve of Cinco de Mayo and that means one thing to the geeks of the world, today is May the 4th.

Happy Star Wars Day!

Get it?  May the fourth…May the fourth be with you…

Anyways, earlier this week, Stephanie promised 2WC’s thoughts on casting for Fox’s upcoming “Grease” live production, but we couldn’t pass on Star Wars Day, especially on the heels of a Star Wars casting announcement of epic proportions.

So, we thought we’d have some fun with our casting selections, and select our hypothetical high schoolers from within the Star Wars company of actors. That includes, past, present, and future cast members, and for the more seasoned performers we’re allowing for some suspension of disbelief when it comes to ages.

Here we go, from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away,  we bring you Rydell High’s class of 1960:

Sandy: Keira Knightley—Yes, she’s been in a Star Wars movie, look it up.

Danny: Domhnall Gleeson—It’s time the world had a ginger Danny Zuko.

Rizzo: Carrie Fisher—It just feels right.

Kenickie: Jar Jar Binks—Sorry Kenickie, but you’re a relatively unnecessary character.

Frenchy: Natalie Portman—It’s a bit unorthodox (but so is this whole hypothetical exercise to be fair) and think of the depth Ms. Portman could give this character.

Teen Angel: Ewan McGregor—It’s all about the voice.

Vince Fontaine: Harrison Ford—There’s more than a few similarities here.

Eugene and Patty Simcox: R2-D2 and C-3PO—They’re not quite the stars of the show, but it wouldn’t be the same without them.

Miss Lynch: Chewbacca—Firstly, there is a serious lack of women in the Star Wars universe.  Secondly, how awesome would it be to have a Wookiee principal? Pretty awesome.
