Value of Your Speech

I have spoken before about gossip, and the awful effects it has on the person it is about, the person speaking, and those around both people.
What we say can have great value. It can be as precious as silver.
Likewise, what we say can bring hatred, foolhardiness and waste.
Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips
and spreads slander is a fool.
Sin is not ended by multiplying words,   but the prudent hold their tongues.
The tongue of the righteous is choice silver,   but the heart of the wicked is of little value.
                                                 -- Proverbs 10:18-20
I know that gossip is an easy thing to follow into, and unfortunately it is something I can really struggle with, but I vow to try to speak words of value, and not multiplying my words like a fool.
