Vax Air Cordless Lift-Off Vacuum Cleaner: Review
We were recently given the opportunity to try out the Vax Air Cordless Lift Vacuum Cleaner, and it couldn't have come at a better time as with two young children in the house and a vacuum that had just died on us - we were struggling a bit!
I have to admit, I've never been too adventurous when it comes to purchasing vaccum cleaners - always assuming that one is much the same as the next and the job is done equally well by any of them.
Then along came this little beauty to completely blow that opinion out of the water!
The Vax Air is like no vacuum cleaner I've ever come across before! For a start, I have never come across a vacuum cleaner so light...I know it's name is "Air" but I fully expected this to be a gimmick, but it truly is not - this machine really is almost as light as air!
Infact it is SO light and easy to manoevre that my 2 year old son can use it with absolute ease! He's always been a bit scared of vacuum cleaners before so when the new one arrived, we asked him if he wanted to have a go to help him overcome his fear...he accepted the challenge and now absolutely loves it and asks for a go everytime it comes out...watching such a tiny person push around this machine with such ease is pretty funny to watch but really does demonstrate how feather light it really is!
The vacuum can be used as an upright cleaner, or the mid-section cylinder can be removed to use on its own which is so handy for vacuuming the stairs, cleaning out behind the sofa cushions or vacuuming the car.
The suction is very impressive, which I wasn't convinced it would be particularly on the cylinder lift out section. There is also a very handy Boost mode for tackling particularly stubborn areas.
The vacuum is also cordless, which gives so much more freedom of movement and makes the whole task of hoovering the house from top to bottom so much more appealing! It comes with two lithium batteries so you can always have one charging whilst one is being used, the battery life is on average 60 minutes of run time.
Another feature I love is the headlight! You really wouldn't believe what a difference it makes to have a spotlight on the area you're vacuuming to really show up the bits on the floor and ensure everything is picked up, particularly when cleaning under or behind sofas and beds, etc.
To summarise, here is a run down of the top features:
  1. An ultra-lightweight, lift-out cylinder for instant extra reach above the floor
  2. 2 LithiumLifeTMbatteries deliver up to 60 minutes* run time
  3. WindTunnel3TMhelps lift and remove embedded dirt
  4. Ultra-lightweight at only 5.1kg when in use
  5. Cyclonic technology delivers constant powerful suction
  6. LED headlights mean you can easily navigate around your home

Overall I am extremely impressed with this vacuum cleaner, and will never look back on purchasing a top of the line model as I have been completely sold on just how worthwhile they are.
The Vax Air Cordless Lift has an RRP of £349.99 but is currently on offer for £249.95 - it comes with free delivery from Vax direct and payment can be spread over 5 installments. It also comes with a 6 year guarantee.
