Venture Elite Notebook Review
Working from home has many upsides.
You can often organize your work time around family time and the day to day tasks family life creates. You're not governed by shifts, and there's no commute to or from a place of work. These are just a few of the positives.
There are some minuses however, and the biggest of these has to be the constant interruption that family life, and small children in particular,  can have on your work. Whole days set aside for work can be undone with just one cry of 'Mummy!' and the flow of productivity you were enjoying can be cast adrift with the simple request for a favorite toy or biscuit.
Because our computer only fits in the playroom thanks to the bedrooms being over cramped, I am always a prime target for the boys whenever I am trying to work but have recently however I have discovered a new tool for my arsenal that has helped me significantly reduce the interference.
I was fortunate enough to be sent a new Venturer EliteWin S 11KT Windows Mini-Notebook to try out. For those not familiar with the concept of a 2-in-1 notebook, it is essentially a hybrid between a laptop and and tablet device. When using the device as a conventional laptop, the screen is attached to a traditional keyboard, however the screen is detachable from the keyboard and can be used as a tablet on it's own-Pretty nifty eh?
Whilst I had used laptops in the past (I still have my very old, bright pink one from my youth!) I had never used a 2-in-1 device. Well quite honestly, the device has proven to be a Godsend in the battle against interruption, and is so versatile, I now can't imagine not using one!

Here are just some of the key features it boasts;
1) A great keyboard to type on.
It's as solid as any PC keyboard I have used and is very comfortable thanks to it's ergonomic design. I worried that the word "mini" would mean everything was so compact that I would struggle to type - as a touch typist I knew I would struggle with that, but I am pleased to report that the keyboard does not feel compact at all and I am able to type on it with my usual speed.
2) Touchscreen.
The screen is very smart indeed and operates in the same way as a tablet or smart phone. It's also very responsive and has a great zooming capacity...this makes operating it much easier as I have found in the past that mouse pads can be unresponsive and difficult to use when trying to X out of web pages, but the touch screen function makes life so much easier!
3) Weight

The 2-in-1 arrangement, even when together is very light.
 In the past, laptops have always been quite weighty, the Venture however shows just how far technology has come. I can easily use it comfortably on my lap, and can imagine taking it with me on holiday, or train journeys, without feeling weighed down.
4) Detachable screen.
 This has been a revelation. Whilst I do use my own tablet device from time to time, the screen size can be limiting. The Venturer however has a huge (in comparison to my tablet) 11.6" IPS display, and again is so light I don't feel my wrists aching after using it for more than 10 minutes.
5) Versatility.
The Venturer can be used as a laptop, a tablet, as a display feature, or even for presentations.
Now, for the more technically minded among you, here's a breakdown of the manufacturers specs';
1) Screen: EliteWin S 11KT 1366 x 768 IPS
2) OS: Windows 10
3) One month trial for Office 365
