Hi all!
I'm back with another review and this time it’s a face wash. I’m not into skincare much, I hardly use face packs nor do I follow a proper CTM routine though I have the bottles stacked up at home (I'm the laziest person on earth, okay maybe I come within the top 5 :P). But a face wash is something which I take very seriously, it makes a lot of difference to the skin in the long run. So without further ado, let me introduce you to the star of today’s review : Vichy Purete Thermale Purifying Foaming Water!
What Vichy has to say about their product (be prepared for a speech, they say a LOT about their product :P) : Purifying Foaming Water is a clear water that transforms into high-density foam on contact with water to remove impurities from skin and restore radiance and freshness.

The cleanser comes in a cute (no, THE CUTEST) packaging :P It comes in a pink bottle with a white pump. The transparent bottle makes it easy to see the amount of product left. The foam is pretty dense and doesn't disintegrate quickly, giving you ample time to apply. The first thing I observed about this cleanser was the soothing feel it gave on application, it feels very gentle and luxurious on skin. The fragrance is mild and it doesn't bother me. In fact I quite like it but some might not.
It removes all dirt and impurities effectively, it even removed my everyday makeup quite well but didn't work as well on my long stay makeup (and since it doesn't claim to do that I’m not going to hold that against it). My skin feels hydrated and soft after the wash, it doesn't leave any slippery layer – you get a super-clean, super-soft skin, and it doesn't get better than that for dry skin beauties. Though the company suggests applying it using a cotton pad and says that rinsing is not required, I use it like a normal face wash and I’m very much impressed with the results.
I’ve got compliments from friends that my skin looks better and brighter after using this regularly, I can feel a difference myself, not a huge difference but still I'm pretty happy about it. I've been using this 50ml bottle for about a month, once a day and there is still about 1/3rd of the product left. I usually use one pump if I’m cleansing just my face, two pumps for face and neck. So if used twice a day, as suggested by the company, one bottle should last you a month (maybe a few days lesser than that).
Pros :
- Gentle cleanser, suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive skin
- Removes dirt and impurities effectively
- Leaves skin hydrated and fresh after the wash
- Has a mild scent
- Free of Alcohol, Paraben, Soap and Colorant
- Foam doesn’t disintegrate quickly, gives you time to apply properly
- Cute packaging, I can look at it all day :P
- Not sure on how it would work for extremely oily skinned girls
- Expensive for the quantity provided but well justified for the quality you get
Final word : Vichy has produced a winner with this one, no doubts about it. I’m not sure how well it would fare for extremely oily skinned girls but people with normal to dry skin look no further :P This has made me fall in love with foam cleansers, planning to try Sebamed or Pond’s Gold Radiance Radiance Boosting Cleansing Mousse next. Has anyone tried this cleanser? Or any other foam cleansers? What’s your opinion? Share them in your comments below
