It may seem like a silly thing to have a holiday. If we’re going to celebrate walking, we might as well celebrate breathing or standing up and sitting down day.
Still, I suppose this original mode of transportation deserves at least a little respect honor. In honor of its day of recognition, here’s some helpful tips for how to get up and celebrate this bipedal holiday.
If it’s been a while since you’ve gone for a walk, it’s important not to overlook the basics. Consider where you’re walking and for how far and plan accordingly. If you’re walking around the house, slippers or socks are fine. If you’re going outside, shoes are mandatory unless you want to be labeled as “that guy.”
And who knows, this whole walking thing could turn into a whole new hobby, and maybe even…speed walking?
All joking aside, walking is a great way to get yourself moving and work towards a healthier lifestyle. Just taking a few minutes a day to step away from the madness and take a walk around the block, or at least the office, can make you a healthier and happier person. From reducing back problems to improving your heart and mental health, walking really is a cure-all.
…just for fun:
