Natural lighting shining through the large windows enclosing Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital generates an atmosphere of transparency, warmth and health at the newest addition to the area's booming medical district The 380 million project broke ground in October 2014, and now an electronic clock sits at the surgical wing counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds before the glass doors slide open, providing top-notch wellness care to residents from the surrounding area. Houston Methodist opened its doors Monday morning to get a media preview, providing The Courier a sneak peek of this six-story hospital and its various technological and guest-centric conveniences. The event will include live music, refreshments, inflatables, in addition to more looks by Texans cheerleaders and masco Toro from 12:30-1:30 p.m. and Houston Dynamo mascot Diesel from noon to 1 p.m.. The new facility showcases cutting-edge technology, incorporating it into every facet, from built in USB ports on chairs across the hospital to personal printers and monitors for individual patient rooms, high quality body CAT scans and magnetic resonance imaging machines.
