Wasting My Time, #793

I have a total whiny gripe that I know my readers will understand and commiserate with me on.  What is up with doctors who make you wait for endless amounts of time in their waiting rooms?  These are the same doctors who will reschedule you if you are 15 minutes late for an appointment and will charge you a fee for the reschedule, too!  It’s like they are saying that their time is more important than yours.  That mindset just drives me nuts!

I mentioned in my blog yesterday that I was getting some blood work done.  I had an appointment to get the blood drawn by the on sight lab, but the actual appointment to see the doctor isn’t even for 3 weeks.  I waited 45 minutes past my scheduled time in that office with hardly anyone else in the waiting room.  When I finally went back to the lab it was like a ghost town.  I didn’t even get an apology for waiting, and my appointment lasted for a grand total of 5 minutes.

My time is valuable!  I sat in that waiting room watching the time tick away thinking of all the things I could be getting done with a morning off of work and the kids in school.  (Yay for Jewish holidays!)  Instead, I spent a chunk of it in a room that didn’t even have Wifi!!!!  The nerve!

So, I just needed to get that off of my chest today.  If there are any doctors reading this blog….please!!!! … be respectful of your patients’ time, too.  We do have lives that are just as valid and important even if they may not be in the medical field.

My song of the day is by Canadian band, Default.  Their “Wasting My Time” seems to fit this complaint that has affected all of us at one time or another perfectly.  So click HERE to listen to it, and next time you’re headed to the doctor, you better plan on clearing your calendar.  Lord help us!
