In a world on the verge of being run by machines, you’d think we’d have invented one that tells us when we’re being stupid.

Sadly, that’s still science fiction at this point, and we still have to turn to man, and even the government to protect us from ourselves.

Just another case of “the man” having to step in and waste our time because we’re too busy checking Twitter to have some good old-fashioned common sense.

California has decided that messing with your GPS while driving is just as distracting as texting.

Of course, the legalese of such court rulings can get complicated and confusing. So, let me explain: Don’t touch your phone while you’re behind the wheel!

Think of this as an excuse to improve your cartography skills—tangling yourself in a paper map while driving is totally legal, although still ill-advised.

Or perhaps, you could just pull over and ask for directions…happy trails…
