Friends and readers, I am so excited and proud to finally announce what my dear friend Latonya and I have been working on for the past few months... we are launching a sustainable clothing line! After keeping the details under wraps for awhile now, and running around with our little ones to fabric suppliers and production studios and photo shoots, we are finally ready to unveil Welkin NYC.
It all started one night many months ago as Gaby and I laid in bed exhausted, talking about the future, and creativity, and careers. He asked me the simple question, "Well baby, what do you love?" And, in a moment of introspection, I replied "Well, I love my kids. And I love designing. And, of course, I love this city." And then it dawned on me: why not combine all three? Many months, one amazing business partner, countless patterns, and one final collection later, we are ready to launch Welkin NYC, a completely sustainable children's clothing line inspired by, made in, and made for, New York City.
