Good morning and I hope you've all had a wonderful weekend! To brighten up your Monday morning, I'm bringing you a blog from a fabulously hot and sunny July day in Somerset - and a wedding at Kilver Court in Shepton Mallet. What a location - and what a couple!
If you've not been to Kilver Court, I can absolutely recommend you take a visit there. It's one of those hidden gems that you could easily drive past without even knowing what delights are inside. The gardens are truly AMAZING and so peaceful - and as a wedding venue, it's truly spectacular. Like this bride and groom, you can even get married outside in the dovecote, which is such a special space. Of course, good weather is always a bonus if you are planning to get married outside - and luckily, there was plenty of it for this particular wedding at Kilver Court!
This blog is all about the preparations - and as both bride and groom were getting ready at the venue, I was able to hop between both sides of the wedding party and cover the preparations of both. I love that palpable sense of building excitement before the wedding, punctuated by little yet significant moments like the arrival of the flowers... and wow, these particular flowers, provided by the lovely Sarah at Floribunda Rose , were absolutely spectacular!
It's also lovely to see a bride who decides to take a step away from the traditional white or ivory with her wedding dress. The bride's dress was champagne, and wow - just take a look, it's truly fabulous. No wonder the groom wept tears of emotion when he saw her arrive for the wedding ceremony... I don't think he was the only one, either!
