Wedding Photography at Clevedon Hall : The Ceremony

Posted on the 18 October 2017 by Belinda Mccarthy @b_mccarthyphoto

It's time to take a look at another recent wedding ceremony - and this time, we're in Somerset at the wonderful Clevedon Hall near Bristol. Although I'm based in Dorset, I work all over Somerset, Dorset and Devon (plus further afield) and it was a pleasure to travel up the M5 to attend this emotional, beautiful and very international wedding ceremony at their wedding photographer!

You may have already seen the bridal prep photographs from this wedding day on the blog already (if not, do take a look!). As the bride is Chinese and the groom is English, many guests travelled a long way to attend this wedding celebration, which had been planned by the bride and groom to perfection. Very thoughtfully, they had arrange for their celebrant to hold the ceremony in not only English, but also German and Chinese - what a challenge, but he rose to it admirably!

The ceremony was held in the grand hall, which gives the bride the opportunity to make a truly spectacular entrance by descending the staircase directly into the hall where her groom and wedding guests are awaiting her. As this was such an important moment, it was definitely one worth rehearsing - and so before the ceremony, the bride and her father did a few 'trial runs' to make sure that they were both prepared for how it would feel at the big moment!

What a lovely ceremony this was, and how truly emotional - as you can see from the images, there were more than a few people shedding happy tears. Luckily for the wedding party, the weather behaved itself to allow the bride and groom to make the exit they'd dreamt of, which was to step out of the main doors of Clevedon Hall into a confetti storm thrown by their waiting guests!

Without further ado, let's take a look at some of my favourite images from this absolutely lovely wedding ceremony at Clevedon Hall. As you'll soon be able to tell, one of the things I particularly love to do is see the ceremony from the wide eyes of the children in attendance - what a magical moment it must seem to them!
