I'm so pleased to be able to bring you some preview images from a recent wedding I shot in Sherborne, Dorset, followed by the wedding reception at Brympton House in Yeovil, Somerset. The wedding ceremony was an event I was particularly excited about photographing, for it was an opportunity to carry out wedding photography at Sherborne Abbey, one of the most spectacular locations in Dorset. So, I knew that the wedding was going to be something special - and it certainly didn't disappoint!
This particular wedding at Sherborne Abbey was an Anglo- Australian affair, for the bride was born and grew up in Australia, before meeting her husband to be and moving to the UK. So, it was particularly important for the family that many shots were captured of all of those people who made the long trip from Down Under in order to attend the wedding. As a wedding photographer, it was also wonderful to see so many emotional reunions and capture these truly important family memories.
The bride held her wedding preparation in the beautiful local village of Compton Pauncefoot, where her family had rented a house for their stay, before travelling across the border into Dorset for the magnificent wedding ceremony in Sherborne Abbey. It's something I can't manage to put into words, but one of the most awe inspiring parts of the wedding ceremony was when were privileged enough to hear the soaring voices of the truly wonderful abbey choir. It really was like heaven on earth.
The wedding reception was held at the glorious Brympton House, back over the border into Somerset, where I'm a regular wedding photographer and know the setting intimately - so it was great to connect with the team there again!
What a wonderful wedding day it was, and how lucky I was to be able to document it.
