Weekend Love♥: Product Review of E.l.f.

Posted on the 19 May 2012 by Gandbblog @GandBblog

Happy weekend my wonderful blogger friends!
Today, I want to do something a little different than I usually do. I could be wrong, but I don't think I have ever done a product review on this blog. Maybe suggested one or two, but never a full out, no holds barred, product review. Well, here it is. The brutal honest opinion about something very important. Something that is very near and dear to my heart. Make up.
I know, I think I just heard you giggle. Listen, I live in the south with southern women who are, well let's be honest, judgmental. You think this baby face is going out without a little cover up? You are kidding right? You don't step foot out without make up on. You can only do so if you are deathly ill, or are suffering from a severe sunburn. So make up is a pretty big deal.
I also love Target, and its just about as near and dear to my heart as make up. Okay, more. So when I went to a Target trip the other week, I picked up a make up palette that was on sale. It looked like it had a pretty good number of options from eye shadows, to blushes and bronzers, to lip glosses. I was even shocked by the price. Just a mere $10! Now, I love all of you for going out and purchasing an eye shadow palette for $50, but I am slightly more realistic about my budget and the fact that no eye shadow is worth that. You are buying the brand, right? I just want some eye shadow. So here it is.
Weekend Love♥: Product Review of e.l.f.
It's huge. I really like there are several options for me. So, here is the lowdown.
Does the make up in this palette last through out the day?
Honestly, yes. The make up lasts through out the day, and I actually have oily skin. The thing to remember about any make up is that you have to prepare your skin first. Of course, clean skin is important, but also moisturized skin. Eye shadow primer also helps keep the make up on. I actually wore the make up both ways. I used it without anything underneath, and with primer underneath. All of the products I used were still there at 5 p.m. when leaving work.
How many of each product do you get?
Are you ready for this? You get 60 eye shadows! I know it floored me too! You also get 20 lip gloss shades, three blushes, and two bronzers. This is like the ultimate palette because you get so much and I really like that. I hate having to wear the same color shadow everyday, and its nice to be able to customize the colors at times too!
Is the product waterproof?
I don't think it's water proof, but it is Georgia proof. We have some humid days down here already and like I said, the make up really stays through out the day. It's nice to have a product that keeps it's integrity throughout the day. You know how gray eyeshadow can look blue halfway throughout the day, well that doesn't happen here.    From a 1 to 10, 10 being the best, what do you rate this product?
I would give this product an 8. The only downfall is that there is not enough shadow in each pod. I am an avid layer-er. So I need like 10 years worth of shadow for three months. Other than that, it's a 10!   Would you recommend this product to a friend?
Friend, family, or foe. I love it, which is why I am telling you about it! Go to Target and check it out!   Have you tried e.l.f. before? What do you think?
