West Somerset Marquee Wedding: Preview Images

Posted on the 11 July 2016 by Belinda Mccarthy @b_mccarthyphoto

Oh, this lovely West Somerset marquee wedding was an absolute treat to photograph, and an even bigger joy to share some of the preview images with you from! I don't think I've ever seen a more perfect setting for a marquee wedding than in the gorgeous grounds of the bride's family farm, amongst a truly and epically stunning wildflower meadow which ran down to a lake. I can't possibly overstate how romantic a location this was for a wedding day. I just can't. Plus, throughout the wedding day, I could see at every turn how much the guests appreciated the wonderful location and how much effort had been gone to to make this an incredibly memorable day for everyone.

On this wedding day, the couple married at the nearby (and VERY picturesque) Cothelstone Church, where in a very individual and delightful break from tradition, instead of church bells announcing the bride's arrival, a bagpiper played from the top of the bell tower - fabulous! This little church was absolutely packed to the rafter with friends and family who had come to celebrate with the couple... and after a confetti recessional, everyone whizzed off to the aforementioned marquee setting in Bishops Lydeard, to enjoy a champagne reception.

I'm very happy to bring you just a few previews from this lovely wedding day in West Somerset. It was a true pleasure for me to be able to photograph the couple in the true dream of a wildflower meadow! As per many of my couples, they primarily wanted documentary images of their guests and family enjoying the wedding day, so we kept the couples portraits to a very short period, in the few minutes prior to the guests arriving back from church.

Here we are... and if you like these images, keep an eye out for more blogs on this beautiful wedding day as we go forward!
