What a Week!

Posted on the 30 July 2012 by Mikidemann @mikidemann

You may or may not have noticed that I was MIA last week. I had posted a couple warnings that I was going to be working our convention for my work, Perfectly Posh. I have never done this type of this before, and had no idea what to expect. I was on my feet running around like a crazy chicken without a head for most of the day.. everyday. I didn’t expect to be so busy, and to be so tired, but also to feel so valuable. It’s really cool to be part of a company that allows me to come and help, being so new, but also allows me so much responsibility within my job. I was extremely excited to meet all the consultants that I’ve been hearing about or talking to over phone or email for the past couple months. That’s always a weird feeling too. I imagine it would be like meeting a blogger that I’ve stalked for so long, and know so much about but haven’t ever really met. Leadership and Convention were really cool, it was fun to see my bosses and our CEO’s so down to earth and helping teach and learn from the consultants. We are a pretty chillaxed company, and there was lots of solid and really good energy. I may have even cried a few times during our awards, and our gala, because so much passion is in this company that isn’t even a year old yet. We, being the staff, put SO many hours and lots of work into making this happen, and it definitely didn’t go unnoticed! I loved getting all the hugs and just the verbal thank you’s. It was a great experience.

We stayed in 2 different hotels throughout the week. I didn’t even unpack either time. My suitcase stayed full and my bathroom stuff was dumped all over the counters.

This was our hotel at the UofU guest house, which some consultants looked up online, and said it was haunted. It’s possible, it was built in 1876, but I slept like a baby after a delicious dinner of beef jerky and chips.

This is where our first event was, called leadership. Here is one of the only photos I have from this whole event. A few consultants gave our CEO’s some shirts to thanks them for being awesome!

Our next hotel was Mariott at City Creek. I was on the 8th floor, and it was gorgeous! We had a big bathroom, and some of the best coffee to wake me up in the morning. Jared even went and hung out at the gym here, since he was wandering around at 3am, while I was zonked out with my swollen feet

Look how pink our general session room was, look how many bean bags there were!! It was so much fun to jump in those babies! We definitely went a less traditional route with the seating ;

Even though, I was having a good time and learning a whole heck of a lot more than I think I will remember, I MISSED my puppy so dang bad!! My mom sent me a bunch of pictures and videos throughout the week, and most of the time I’d look through all of them before bed, and wish that she was there with me. Here are a few she sent me.

Late Saturday night, we were cleaning up and getting ready to go home. I was so excited to go home, and determined to pick up my puppy that night. We got to our cars at about 11:30pm, and then there was a concert that just let out, so we were stuck in the parking garage for another 30 minutes or so. I was so irritated at this point, but when we finally got home we just flew over to my parents to grab my cuddle puppy. She was so excited and really tired from exerting all her energy over the past week. She pretty much slept as much as I did on Sunday

Now I am back to the real world, and very thankful to be in my normal routine again. I am hoping the blisters on my feet go away quickly, and I can get everything back on track! I really did miss all of you though, I felt like I had this gaping blog hole in my heart!
