What Do You Do?

What do you do
When someone lies about you?
When they completely
Lie about you.
When they say you abused them,
When you did not,
When they say they pity your partner
Because you abuse them on a daily basis,
When you do not,
Never have,
Never would.
What do you do
When you start to suspect,
That these lies have started to spread?
Friends fall away,
Because they listen to this old friend,
An older friend than you,
With their lies,
Rather than trust their experience of you.
What do you do?
