Today I am linking up with my dear friends Kalyn and Lauren. I expressed last week that I am really looking forward to focusing on more heartfelt posts on the blog.
I LOVE the link up that Kalyn and Lauren do. They always present questions that you can discuss - ones that you would bring up and talk to a friend about over coffee.
Today's questions are:
"What's the meaning behind your blog title and why? Do you believe that you have upheld the meaning's purpose?"
I love these questions. I feel particularly passionate about them, because they have an important place in Ryan and I's upcoming life changes.
I made up the word "Wifessionals". I googled it and it didn't exist...anywhere. I made it because it was a play on "Wife" and "Confessions". I love my blog title because it is so broad and encompasses a ton! It doesn't restrict me on what I can write about. If it has to do with my confessions of being a wife, then it is fair game.
Now some bloggers have to change the title of their blogs as life evolves. A big one is when babies enter the picture. I particularly like my blog title in that it states what my sole focus should be in life: being a good and faithful wife. Yes, I am so excited about being a mother, and my future children with be so incredibly important to me. But I am a strong believer that your marriage should always come first. My plan is to forever focus on keeping a great marriage with Ryan, making sure God is the center of everything we do, and then focusing on our children second. That isn't mean or insensitive to our kids - that is biblical and the way it should be for all couples (religious or not).
What better way to create a stable home environment than to show your children the love, respect and dedication you have for your spouse? If you turn all your focus onto your children and put your husband second, chances are your marriage will suffer, and sadly, can lead to dissension or even divorce. This is why I love my blog title. It is a daily reminder that I am always to be a wife first and a mother second. And since I will always be a wife, regardless of whether I am a mother, aunt, grandmother, etc...the title is perfect because it will ALWAYS fit me. I think all of this is to say that yes, I believe I have upheld the purpose behind the meaning of my blog and I am so excited to see how my blog continues to grow and change as my life does over the years.
